FURTHER ASSESMENT REQUIRED
Video showing location of covered-over stream and explaining one of the reasons why this development is unsuitable. The planning application failed to adequately assess for flood risk and ignored the structure and its potential significance from an ecological standpoint – which is required under Irish and E.U legislation. It is plausible that the structure, with its distinct cave like characteristics, is being used by Bats as a summer and winter roosting site. The council needs to step in now and ensure the site is protected.
